Hours, Fees & Insurance
I meet with clients at my Santa Rosa office or via Skype and FaceTime Monday through Thursdays, by appointment only.
I usually meet with clients for a 50-minute session, weekly, although you might need to be seen more or less often, depending on your individual needs. We talk about that and decide together what will work best for you.
My fee is $175 per session, and I accept most major credit cards.
In regard to insurance questions, I choose to be an “out of network” provider. That means you will be paying my fee directly to me, and I will provide you with a monthly statement which will contain the information an insurance company will require. While many PPO and POS medical insurance plans will reimburse you some portion of my fee, you may wish to speak to your specific insurer in order to determine how that will work for you. You may also wish to check into whether you have met your deductible for the year, as you may not receive any reimbursement until the deductible is satisfied.
My services are also typically FSA or HSA eligible, so if you have one of these accounts, please check to see if counseling is covered. It usually is.
Many clients are reluctant to utilize insurance for counseling/psychotherapy because filing for those benefits will require that I provide a diagnosis, and that information on your records may impact you in a variety of ways in the future. This is something for you to consider.
Finally, I am quite familiar with the workings of medical insurance and am happy to help you meet your insurer’s requirements whenever I can. Please let me know if you have any questions.
